We are the Costa del Sol’s leading Wedding Planners and we are now pleased to be able to offer Weddings In Gibraltar, which at the moment according to the law are only available for our heterosexual clients, but the marriage is legal and has a minimum of paperwork, the information relates to civil marriages for non-residents using the Governor's Special Licence. and is addressed  to British and EU citizens, other nationals should enquire whether there are visa or other restrictions on their getting married in Gibraltar. A lot of clients from the UK and Europe wish to get married in Spain and due to the laws regarding residency, are unable to, therefore this is another option for marrying legally in Spain when the couple are neither Roman Catholic nor Resident, have a civil wedding in Gibraltar, a British territory to the south of Spain and subject to UK law. In this case, the couple, whether they are British or any other nationality, may hold a legal civil wedding.

In Gibraltar, you may marry within 24 hours of arrival without the residency requirements of other countries. Local marriage law does not contain any residential requirements and so therefore it is a simple procedure a Gibraltar marriage is recognised worldwide. To get married at Gibraltar's registry office you will need to present yourself at the registry at least 24 hours before you wish to get married. Documentation and choice of time and day can be arranged before that and all documents will be ready for your arrival to the office 24 hours before the ceremony.

As Gibraltar is a popular location for getting married it is wise to plan well in advance, we recommend at least 3 months notice to get the time and day you require, but please ask if you want something sooner and we will see what availability is available for you.
If you are unmarried, you will require your birth certificate and in some circumstances a certificate to certify, you have not been married before.

If you are a widow or widower, you must furnish a copy of your previous partners death certificate and your birth certificate. If your former spouse's death certificate does not name you as the widow or widower of the deceased then a copy of your original marriage certificate is required.

If you are divorced, you must submit your birth certificate, your previous marriage certificate and your final and absolute divorce decree.

In all cases, passports would be required

In each case where documentation is required, it must be the original and not photocopies.

How much will the Ceremony  cost?


Governor's Special Licence £67.50. Ceremony £34. Certificates £3.50 each and a further charge of between £10 and £20 payable for the services of a Commissioner of Oaths.
